Chamber supports Small Business Award

The South Sydney Chamber of Commerce has been asked to participate in the Wentworth Courier Small Business Award. We actively support efforts to highlight business in our area.

- Joan Weisz, our Secretary, represented us at the announcement of the Wentworth Courier Small Business Award. Did you spot her smiling face?

South Sydney Bulletin

- Our Chamber was represented by President - Geoff May, Secretary - Joan Weisz and Publicity Officer - Robin Yabsley at the official opening of the Brendan Behan Hotel in Chippendale. Check the Social Pages.

Tobacco Sales Warning

The Southern Area Health Service has notified us of the current campaign against under age smoking. Their Press Release is attached. There is an active undercover presence in our area now.

State Chamber Activities

The State Chamber of Commerce is preparing a submission to the current proposals on Environmental Protection. If you wish to comment on the proposal please contact the President - Geoff May - for further details.

Scrap Book

Our Publicity Officer is creating a Scrap Book. Would anyone who has any magazine or newspaper articles that mention the Chamber please get in touch with Robin (phone: 9331-8077) who will arrrange to take them off your hands to get them copied.

Meeting Venues

We are seeking different places to hold our meetings. This is a good opportunity to get some exposure for your business via the Chamber meetings and members.

Chamber Directory

Who knows about your business? The Chamber does and is going to help you promote it. We are putting together a directory of members' businesses. This is a free service of the Chamber. All you have to do is tell us how you wish to be mentioned.

The format will be classified with Business name, Street Address and Phone Number.

Meeting Door Prizes The President has donated a bottle of wine as the Lucky Door Prize at the next General Meeting. What can others do?
