They are there because they work in all cases. (If not, adjust them until they do.)
Breaking the rules always seems to come back to haunt you. Work ends up incomplete and/or the consistency, and hence, integrity, of the system is reduced.
It’s a good idea NOT to perform day to day work as an Administrator. Continued use of high access level accounts should be limited to those time they are needed.
Be active in the management of the network.
After all, Users do the work that earns the money that pays your wages...
The network should be, to all intents and purposes, invisible to the Users once they’ve logged in. Anything less than this will slow the Users down and start the erosion of procedures.
