By saying this, I mean that in a security system, all members from Directors to Users are responsible for the instantaneous security of the network.
The network links all people in an organisation. Each person needs to be aware that they are sharing a common resource; that any action has the possibility of affecting others and possibly in unforeseen ways.
Not only is internal and external security important, it is also important that those outside the organisation perceive you to be security conscious. Otherwise they will be hesitant to share anything confidential with you.
