URL Construction

Component Example Description
Schema gopher: The protocol to use to access the service/site.
Site Name //info.anu.edu.au The Domain Name. Can also be an IP Address.
Port :70 The TCP Port if the standard one is not being used.
Directory /pub/ The volume/directory path to the required file.
File Identifier gopher.menu The file name and type.
Bookmark #Section1 A pointer into the file.
