Reverse Proxies - Accelerators

Traditionally, a proxy has been used on the edge of a network to store incoming data. However, this same process may be used to accelerate data being requested by external users. The accelerator essentially becomes the web server. Optimised for providing information, an accelerator supplied static information many times faster than a web server, thus removing that load from the web server, allowing it to provide dynamic pages more quickly.
